  • Study on Linkage Data-Sets of Patents and Patent References Based on ISLI Standard

    Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] This paper aims at establishing the linkage data-sets of patents and patent references based on ISLI standard, and promoting bibliometric research and science and technology linkage research. [Method/Process] On the basis of analyzing the linkage schemes of patents and patent references, analyzing the unique identifiers of target documents and their acquisition methods, the method of constructing the linkage data-sets of patents and patent references by using ISLI standard was discussed. [Result/Conclusion] The linkage data-sets of patents and patent references can be used to enrich and improve the existing citation systems, break through the two systems of patents and non-patent literatures, and measure the number of citations and influence of patents and non-patent literatures more accurately.

  • Research Progress in Computer and Information Science in Recent 20 Years: Thematic Analysis of Information Processing and Management

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper analyzes the themes of papers published in Information Processing and Management from 2000 to 2020, in order to know the thematic focus and evolution trends of IPM, and provide references for the development and related research of computer and information science. [Method/process] Firstly, based on 1852 research papers in the full-text database of ScienceDirect, this paper counted and visualized the titles, abstracts and keywords of the papers to classify the thematic categories. Then, this paper analyzed the research themes of each category systematically. At last, it compared the thematic focus in different periods and analyzed thematic evolution trends. [Result/conclusion] IPM mainly focuses on three themes of information retrieval, text analysis and user research, and presented evolution characteristics in general: information retrieval as the core theme, transform from text and information analysis to multimedia and knowledge analysis, and in-depth analysis and mining of user sentiments.

  • Knowledge Management: From 1 to N to N Square

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Guided by the integration of theory and practice, it provided guidance for the realization of scene revolution, knowledge empowerment and practical path of enterprise knowledge management, and helped enterprise knowledge management to realize from 1 to N to N square. [Method/ process] Through the scene revolution of the four dimensions of business field, knowledge field, interpersonal field and technology field, and applied the “1+4” model to make knowledge from “Management” to “Use”, and finally interpreted the practice path of knowledge management in stages. [Result/conclusion] Clarify the four dimensions of scene revolution and implement various scenarios; according to the “1+4” model, provide knowledge empowerment for knowledge assets, individuals, teams, organizations and businesses; comparing the path of practice, companies find their own development pain points, tailor-made knowledge management program, and provide better empowerment for enterprises and employees.

  • Comparative Study on Intelligent Interactive Exhibition in Chinese and Foreign Science and Technology Museum

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The purpose of this paper is to promote the science museum to play its role of social education and publicity through the sustainable development research of intelligent interactive exhibition, and to provide important reference for the library to enhance its comprehensive service function. [Method/process] This paper combed the function definition and effects of intelligent interactive exhibition, compared it with other education forms and summarized the ways of interaction. Then, we expounded the current development situation of Chinese and foreign intelligent interactive exhibition, and made a comparative analysis of the development process, theoretical research, functional effect and innovative concept of intelligent interactive exhibition in Chinese and foreign science and technology museums, and found out the existing problems in the development of intelligent interactive exhibition in China. [Results/conclusions] After exploring the deep-seated reasons behind the low popularity of intelligent interactive exhibitions in Science Museums, it is recommended that the manager of science and technology museum should consider the complete scene that audiences visit science and technology museum; informal education of science and technology museum must be closely integrate with the formal education, to realize linkage resource sharing; By optimizing the current mode of intelligent interactive exhibition, the enthusiasm of UGC will be encouraged to the greatest extent, and the originality and universality of high-quality intelligent interactive exhibition will be gradually enhanced, so as to promote the popularization of scientific knowledge and the improvement of public scientific literacy.

  • Construction and Practice of Subject Information Service Mode of Professional Library Based on the SECI Model——Taking the National Science Library as an Example

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper studies the application and innovative practice of SECI model in professional library subject information service, aims to improve knowledge management and service level in subject information service, consolidates and enhances the competitiveness of subject information service. It hopes to provide a reference for the effective application of SECI model in subject information service. [Method/process] The professional library subject information service model based on the SECI model was constructed. Based on this, an empirical analysis was carried out by summarizing the innovative service practices of the National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences based on this model. [Result/conclusion] The transformation of tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge is embedded in multiple links of subject information services. Introducing the SECI model into the professional library subject information service can solve some shortcomings of knowledge management in the subject information service, provide guidance and methods for the professional library to carry out innovation practices of subject information service, and effectively promote the core competitiveness and the overall level of the subject information service.

  • Research and Practice on the Integration of Scientific literature and Scientific Data

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper focuses on the development of the open science movement and the influence of scientific data on scientific research, introduces some cases of the integration of scientific literature and scientific data, and states the methods and problems of integration. [Method/process] The author described the status of separation of scientific literature and scientific data, explained the background that promotes the integration of these two things. Then, by the case study, it introduced three types performance of the integration of scientific literature and scientific data. [Result/conclusion] The integration of scientific literature and scientific data is needed by scientific research, as well as a form of influence on modern scientific research in the era of open science and big data. In practical application, there are mainly three ways: “hard connection”, “soft connection” and “deep integration”. The integration of literature and data need to be promoted by the comprehensive measures from the main institutions of all fields.

  • Decision Service Modeling of Product Design Process Based on Knowledge Crystallization Theory

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper aims to serve the decision-making of solutions to problems in the product design process, meet the demand of knowledge retrieval and reuse, and guarantee the sustainable development of products. [Method/process] Based on the double-cycle model of knowledge crystallization, it found that there are problems in the existing IBIS (issue-based Information System) model and its improvement model. Therefore, the knowledge crystallization double cycle model was used to connect the discussion dialogue model and the product design process, to construct the ‘IBIS representation supporting the product double cycle model’. In the original discussion dialogue model, ‘take the large or fetch small operators’ was used in fuzzy comprehensive decision making. However, because of this operator, some useful elements will be invalid, so ‘take the large or fetch small operators’ was replaced by the Einstain operator. [Results/conclusions] The Einstain operator draws on the idea of ‘take the large or fetch small operators’ to ignore the useless value data, and highly reducts the data at both ends. The IBIS representation supporting the product double cycle model has made the product design process decision service modeling based on the knowledge crystallization double cycle theory has a basic model framework, and the improved discussion dialogue model makes the core algorithm reliable.

  • Research on the Contribution of the Number of Patent Families to the Value of Patents ——Taking Solar Energy as an Example

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Research on the contribution of the number of patent families to the value of patents can provide an important reference for patents strategy layout optimization and patent value evaluation. [Methods/process] Taking the new clean solar energy field as an example, we identified high-value and low-value patent data sets, and designed experiments on patent family size differences between high-value patents and low-value patents. Finally, then SPSS 22 was used to verify the model. [Results/conclusion] Empirical research have shown that the contribution of the number of patent families to the value of patents is not invariable. With the continuous expansion of the patent families, the proportion of patent families is no longer significant difference between high-value patents and low-value patents. At this time, the increase in the number of patent families has significantly reduced the contribution to patent value.

  • Review on the Evaluation of Technological Innovation Capabilities of Patent-Intensive Industries

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Sorting out the research on the evaluation of technological innovation capabilities in patent-intensive industries will help establish and improve its evaluation system for technological innovation capabilities. [Method/process] By using the methods of literature review and online survey, the research firstly analyzed the definition and characteristics of patent-intensive industries, and then focused on the status quo of researches on the evaluation of technological innovation capabilities of patent-intensive industries from perspectives of evaluation indicators, evaluation models and empirical studies. [Result/conclusion] Combined with the research results of the existing industrial technological innovation capabilities, it is found that existing evaluation indicators’ pertinence and applicability are poor; Also, the evaluation method is too simple, only DEA method is used to measure the innovation efficiency of patent-intensive industries; Besides, most empirical data is secondary data and national economic data, also the research perspective is a little bit broad. It is suggested that future research should fully consider the characteristics of patent-intensive industries, adding more indicators that can reflect the industries’ patent strength and it’s economic contribution into the evaluation index system; actively exploring scientific, effective and comprehensive evaluation methods; utilizing and integrating the multi-source data for evaluating patent-intensive industry’s technological innovation capabilities and other patent data reflecting the quality and level of patent protection of the patent intensive industries, and based on regional and sub-industries perspectives to conduct empirical research.

  • A Review of the Main Recognition Methods of Frontier Research

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper summarized the advantages and disadvantages of various recognition methods of frontier researches by comparing and analyzing these methods, and suggested improvements for future researches.[Method/process] Firstly, it reviewed the literatures related to research frontiers at home and abroad, and identified relevant concepts of the research frontier. Then, the paper analyzed the main exsited research methods for the identification of research frontiers. Comparing with the traditional identification methods, this paper emphasized the summary of recognition methods of transformative research frontiers. Finally, this study summarized the main problems existed in the frontier identification methods, and put forward suggestions for improving the research frontier identification methods.[Result/conclusion] In terms of conceptual meanings, this paper distinguished research hotspots, emerging researches and research frontiers in the dimensions of time and innovation. According to the different levels of innovation, research frontiers can be divided into conventional research frontiers and transformative research frontiers. In terms of identification methods, different methods have their own applicable scenes. In the future, it is necessary to further dig out the measurement features of the "research frontier", especially the semantic associations among topics and the fusion of multiple relations should be focused on, as well as the feature mining of the early signs of "transformation research frontier", and then constructing corresponding recognition and prediction methods.

  • Content, Service, and Construction Path of Smart Library in Smart Society

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] As one of the new goals of the innovation-oriented country, "smart society" puts forward new requirements for the development of libraries. As a new generation of libraries, smart library is conducive to the construction of smart society.[Method/process] Based on the development background of the smart society, this paper discusses the smart library from the three following aspects:connotation, service and construction path.[Result/conclusion] Firstly, the connotation structure system, service concept model and conceptual model of smart library construction of "44-11-33" are proposed. Secondly, the construction principles and principles of the smart library are sorted out. Finally, the paper puts forward some suggestions on the construction of intelligent library from the aspects of new technology application, resource construction, service expansion, and the construction of librarian team.

  • Research Advances of Citation Based Topic Models

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] A wide variety of topic models has been developed with improved algorithm. This paper aims to study the research advances, generation process and algorithm of citation based topic models. Additionally, we discuss the application in the text of academic articles and research areas in the future.[Method/process] Based on the data of Web of Science and CNKI database, we collected articles of citation based topic models. In these articles, we selected several representative articles after manual interpretation to analyze the generative process, parameter estimation and inference methods in these citation based topic models.[Result/conclusion] Currently, there are mainly three types of citation based topic models. This includes the topic models which focus on the topic-citation distribution, while other topic models mainly study the relationship between the citing documents and the cited documents. Besides, citation context based topic models are also available. Additionally, more complete topic content can be detected after introducing citation information into the topic models. Moreover, most of the models are the variants of LDA and PLSA. In future, incorporating citation context information into topic models, improving the inference methods and applying the models are some of the future directions.

  • A Literature Review on Community Profiling

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Community profiling is important for solving the overload of social network information and helping to achieve personalized and deep knowledge services. This literature review presents the research status in community profiling, and analyzes the corresponding techniques, methods and applications, and aims to provide ideas for further research and application of community profiling.[Method/process] Based on the literature investigation, this paper reviews community profiling from three aspects:research content, techniques and methods, and application scenarios. Moreover, the key features and weaknesses of the discussed techniques and methods are presented and several key research fields for future research are highlighted.[Result/conclusion] It is found that the present research focuses on static user data, user similarity methods for profiling, and traditional applications such as recommended services and community discovery. At present, the research on community profiling is still in its infancy, and the data, techniques and methods need to be enriched. It should have good prospects and wide application in the future.

  • Interpretation of Scientific Data Management Rule from the Two-dimensional Perspective of Data Life Cycle and Responsibility Stakeholders

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] In order to better understand and implement the Scientific Data Management Rule, and promote the practice of scientific data management and sharing in China, the paper makes an interpretation of the Scientific Data Management Rule.[Method/process] From the two-dimensional perspective of Data Life Cycle and Responsibility Stakeholders, this paper makes an interpretation of the Scientific Data Management Rule.[Result/conclusion] The Scientific Data Management Rule has formed a scientific data management system based on data life cycle and responsibility stakeholders. The two aspects are integrated and complementary to each other, and together constitute the management system of "unified leadership, division of responsibility among departments and regions" in the management of scientific data in China.

  • Research on the Progress of Scholarly Publishing Literacy Courses in Foreign University Libraries

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] With the increasing complexity of the publishing environment, scholarly publishing literacy has gradually become a new growth point of information literacy education in university libraries. This paper investigates and analyzes the situation and characteristics of scholarly publishing literacy courses in foreign university libraries, so as to provide references for the construction of scholarly publishing literacy courses in Chinese libraries.[Method/process] By the methods of network survey and literature survey, this paper selected 16 representative scholarly publishing literacy courses of foreign university libraries. Then it analyzed practical scholarly publishing literacy courses progress and characteristics from five aspects:the teaching content, form, atmosphere, team and evaluation.[Result/conclusion] Foreign university libraries have actively participated in the scholarly publishing literacy courses. The research cases show the rich tea, the diverse teaching forms, the active teaching atmosphere, the cooperative teaching team, and the sustainable teaching evaluation. Chinese libraries should fully learn from the experience of foreign university libraries in scholarly publishing literacy education and timely carry out scholarly publishing literacy courses.

  • Application of Phenomenological Research Method in Library Work

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Taking the application of phenomenological research method in the library work as the theme, this paper sorts out and analyzes the representative literatures at home and abroad, so as to deepen the understanding of this method and provide useful enlightenment for subsequent library scholars to carry out phenomenological and other qualitative research.[Method/process] Obtaining network database literatures on related research through extensive search strategies, this paper discusses the phenomenology and phenomenological methods, the comparison between phenomenology and grounded theory research, ethnographic methods, and the application practice in libraries, and puts forward specific application strategies finally.[Result/conclusion] The present application of phenomenological methods mainly includes phenomenology in user information literacy;relevant practical experience in librarians' information service; interactive research on knowledge management and knowledge creation. In this study, this paper summarizes the application steps, difficulties and challenges and strategy suggestions of phenomenological method, to enrich the method system of library work research.

  • A Comparative Study on the Differences of Public Libraries Between China and Japan in the Past Twenty Years

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The concept of modern library was introduced to China and Japan at similar times, but after a century of common development under the influence of different national conditions and ways of thinking, there have been great differences in many aspects.[Method/process] This paper visualized the development of the public libraries of China and Japan from the years of 1997 to 2016 in five aspects, including the number of institutions, the total number of books, the number of employees, the number of registered persons, and the cost of purchasing books. The corresponding annual change chart was displayed on the per capita growth rate.[Result/conclusion] On this basis, through the influence of economy and policy on the development of Public Libraries in China and Japan, especially for Japan in the past 20 years, the paper summarized the experience and lessons, and put forward five suggestions for the development of Public Libraries in China.

  • The Practice of Flipping Classroom Teaching of Science and Technology Information Retrieval Course Based on Rain Classroom

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Educational mode is facing a great change in the deep integration of learning technology and teaching. Actively adopting advanced teaching technology is the only way to reform and upgrade traditional curriculum. This paper summarizes the teaching practice of reversing the information retrieval course based on Rain Classroom, aiming at providing reference for other information literacy courses.[Method/process] Empirical research method is used to introduce the curriculum design from the aspects of teaching technology selection, teaching target orientation, learning time design, learning resources design, exercises design, classroom activities design, etc. The effect is evaluated by questionnaire survey.[Result/conclusion] The curriculum strengthens the practical application objectives, mobilizes students'enthusiasm for participation, strengthens the interaction between teacher and students, enriches the learning channels, cultivates students' autonomous learning ability and teamwork ability, and achieves good effectiveness.

  • Comparative Research and Enlightenment of the Current Situation of Chinese and American Medical Informatics Education

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The paper compared and analyzed the undergraduate and master education in Chinese and American universities to provide reference for future medical informatics education in China.[Method/process] Taking the opening time and college level as the selection criteria, 10 representative universities from China and the United States were selected as the research objects. Through online research, the paper comprehensively analyzed the general situation of medical informatics education in China and the United States from the aspects of basic requirements, curriculum, teacher strength, teaching methods and employment prospects.[Result/conclusion] Although China has made some achievements in medical informatics education after decades of exploration and practice, compared with the United States, China still has some shortcomings. In terms of basic requirements for admission, China mainly concentrates on the undergraduate education so that the high-level personnel training system is imperfect; in terms of curriculum, the content of courses is monotonous and the proportion of non-medical basic courses is too high, and the interdisciplinary integration is not obvious; in terms of teachers' strength, the teacher's subject background is single and the distribution of teachers' professional titles is unbalanced; in terms of education and teaching methods, the teaching methods are simple and there are fewer practical opportunities for students; in terms of employment prospects, students knowledge system is not systematic and the employment prospects are limited. Therefore, China should conform to the development requirements of the big data science research paradigm, speed up the cultivation of high-level medical informatics; improve the curriculum and content settings, broaden the scope of subject knowledge system; optimize the allocation of teachers to attract multi-disciplinary background talents; enrich training methods, and pay attention to the combination of theory and practice.

  • Foreign Journal Scientific Data Management Research

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] It provides the inspiration and reference for domestic journals to carry out scientific data management, and puts forward journal scientific data management framework as well as reasonable development suggestions based on the domestic situation.[Method/process] This article selects 15 foreign journals that are good at scientific data management as research objects, and analyzes their characteristics in four aspects, including scientific data management related policies, scientific data submission, repository platform and open access.[Result/conclusion] The enlightenments are as follows: to formulate a complete scientific data management policy; establishing a detailed scientific data submission process; relating professional scientific data repository platform; promoting open access to scientific data actively.
